Tournament awards for both men’s and women’s divisions at the Canadian Slo-Pitch Championship were handed out this afternoon at the Pepsi Softball Centre.
The awards are given out for performance in the round-robin, with the Top Hitter, Top Defensive Player, and MVP of the round-robin recognized. A total of 72 round-robin games were played in the men’s event, and 36 in the women’s event.
The P&M Recycling Guns came out on top in a 16-8 battle with Alaskan Fudge Co. for the Men’s A title at Dustball.
In the Women’s A final, it was the Yukon Titans defeating the Killer Bees, 8-6. McGivney’s Bar & Grill finished first in the Co-ed A category, downing Complete Concrete 15-6.

More than 100 games will be played on the Pepsi Softball Centre diamonds when Whitehorse welcomes the 2016 Men’s and Women’s Canadian Slo-Pitch Championship in August.
Softball Yukon held a men’s and women’s slo-pitch tournament this past weekend at the Pepsi Softball Centre.
Eight men’s teams and six women’s teams took part in the tournament. In the men’s division final, it was the P&M Recycling Guns defeating Dave’s Cleaning Crew 17-11. The Sistas topped the Yukon Titans 23-8 to finish first in the women’s division.
