Softball Yukon, Team Canada to Host Fast Pitch Skill Development Camp

Softball Yukon, in partnership with Softball Canada, will be hosting a fast pitch skill development camp with the Canadian men’s national team on Wednesday, July 5.

The camp is open to all players in the U-12 and U-14 age groups, and will take place at the Pepsi Softball Centre (time TBD). Cost of the camp is $25 and includes expert instruction from Team Canada players and staff, as well as a t-shirt, Team Canada photo, and barbecue.

Andison Inducted into Softball Canada Hall of Fame

(Ottawa, ON) Softball Canada is pleased to announce the list of inductees to the 2016 Hall of Fame Class who will be inducted at the Softball Canada Congress and Annual General Meeting taking place November 10-12 in Whitehorse, YT. The inductees are Robb Andison (Builder – Yukon), Tom Bell (Official – British Columbia), Mike Hornak (Official – British Columbia), Dennis Milligan (Builder – Alberta) and Harvey Stevenson (Athlete – British Columbia).

Orioles, Adrenaline Claim Men’s and Women’s Canadian Slo-Pitch Titles

There were no repeat champions at the 2016 Canadian Slo-Pitch Championship in Whitehorse.

The defending champion Alberta Oilmen and Miken HR Sports Ladybirds both came up short in their bid for back-to-back titles. The Oilmen were eliminated by the eventual champion ON1 Mike HR Sports Orioles, settling for bronze, while the Ladybirds went out in the first round of the playoffs Friday.

Yukon’s Arnold Wins Top Defensive Player

Tournament awards for both men’s and women’s divisions at the Canadian Slo-Pitch Championship were handed out this afternoon at the Pepsi Softball Centre.

The awards are given out for performance in the round-robin, with the Top Hitter, Top Defensive Player, and MVP of the round-robin recognized. A total of 72 round-robin games were played in the men’s event, and 36 in the women’s event.
